Comparison of nucleon-nucleon potential models in a full-folding description of elastic scattering.

چکیده
The sensitivity of proton-nucleus elastic scattering to different nucleon-nucleon effective interactions is studied within the framework of the nonrelativistic full-folding model. Calculations of the nucleon-nucleus optical potential are made using the free nucleon-nucleon t-matrices generated from the Bonn, Paris, Hamada-Johnston, and Melbourne nucleon-nucleon potentials, whose full off-shell behavior is treated explicitly. Applications are made to p + Ca elastic scattering at energies of 200, 300, and 400 MeV within the full-folding framework. Calculations using the on-shell tp model have been made for comparison. Both full-folding and tp results show comparable sensitivity to the particular choice of effective interaction, demonstrating the importance of a realistic description of the nucleon-nucleon interaction both on and off the energy shell.

Sensitivity of nucleon-nucleus scattering to the off-shell behavior of on-shell equivalent NN potentials.
The sensitivity of nucleon-nucleus elastic scattering to the off-shell behavior of realistic nucleon-nucleon interactions is investigated when on-shell equivalent nucleon-nucleon potentials are used. The study is based on applications of the full-folding optical model potential for an explicit treatment of the off-shell behavior of the nucleon-nucleon effective interaction. Applications were ma...

%e investigate the role of the full dynamical dependence of the free off-shell nucleon-nucleon t matrix on the optical potential for proton-nucleus elastic scattering in the 100—400 MeV incident energy range within a full-folding model context. Particular emphasis is placed on the effects of deuteron formation by explicitly taking into account pole singularities in the free nucleon-nucleon t ma...

The full folding optical potential for the elastic scattering of protons from ' 0 and Ca at 200 MeV is calculated. The fully off-shell free nucleon-nucleon t matrix, at a fixed energy, derived from the Paris potential and harmonic oscillator nuclear single-particle wave functions are used for both systems. The calculated observables show that the optimal factorization approximation provides a g...

A framework based on a full-folding model of the nucleon optical potential is presented for studying nuclear densities of closed-shell nuclei using intermediate energy nucleon scattering. Using a density-matrix expansion for the mixed density, a simplified optical potential is obtained that retains the energy and momentum dependence of the effective interaction prescribed by the full-folding mo...
متن کاملOff-Shell Structures of Nucleon-Nucleon t-matrices and their Influence on Nucleon-Nucleus Elastic Scattering Observables
The sensitivity of nucleon-nucleus elastic scattering observables to the offshell structure of nucleon-nucleon t-matrices, derived from realistic NN potentials, is investigated within the context of a full-folding model based on the impulse approximation. Our study uses recently developed NN potential models, which describe a subset of the NN data base with a χ2 per datum ∼1, which means that t...
